AppleOak FibreWorks are based in County Clare in Ireland. We are hand dyers of natural fibres, using our own specialist plant-based dyes. No nasty chemicals, no industrial processing, and a commitment to having a really small impact on our environment. We are a cottage industry and our ethos and commitment to all things natural is what we are ultimately aiming for.

Sionnach Yarns
Situé au cœur du Burren, région irlandaise entourée par Galway Bay et les montagnes du Burren, la nature m’inspire énormément.
C’est pourquoi j’essaie d’utiliser un maximun de plantes locales. Ayant la chance d’avoir un compagnon chef de cuisine, je récupère également les ‘déchets’ tel que peaux d’oignons, d’avocats et bien d’autres.
Tous mes fils sont teints naturellement. Chaque couleurs est uniques et très difficilement voir impossible à reproduire, c’est pourquoi je vous conseille de commander les quantités nécessaires à vos ouvrages.

As mush as possible, I try to use local plants but also “food scrap” like onions skins, avocado pits, …
All my yarns are naturally hand dyed by me. Every colours are unique and very hard or even impossible to reproduct, this is why I highly recommand you to order the quantity you need.

Cushendale Woolen Mills
Cushendale Woollen Mills is one of the few remaining Irish woollen mills continuing to create quality authentic textiles from the fleece of Irish sheep at their historic mill in Graiguenamanagh Co.Kilkenny.
The first mill was established on this site in 1204 by Cistercian monks, and the Cushen family trace their weaving heritage as far back as 1778. Cushendale designs and creates quality bespoke textiles from Irish wool, lambswool & mohair. All Cushendale yarns are uniquely dyed at the mill, a delicate and signature process which enhances the yarn fibres for a softer finish in a bespoke colour palette.
